Description

Preoccupation B is an advanced exercise focusing on scene development by integrating personal viewpoints with a shared physical activity. Two players agree on a location, characters, and an activity (e.g., preparing for a picnic). During this activity, they must maintain a dialogue centered around an agreed subject while fully engaging in their physical interaction.

Setup Requirements

Open stage space for performance.

Point of Concentration

Verbalize personal viewpoints while actively engaging in a shared activity.

Side Coaching

  • Ensure to hand each other props!
  • Stay committed to your own viewpoint!
  • Continuously keep the activity flowing!
  • Engage with each other only through the activity!

Points of Observation

  • Are players maintaining focus on their individual viewpoints?
  • Does the activity support their relationship on stage?
  • Are they engaging in a consistent flow of dialogue?
  • Do they verbalize surrounding elements without losing their focus?

Evaluation

  • Did the players actively engage with their viewpoints during the scene?
  • Was their physical activity collaborative?
  • Did they effectively incorporate their subject into the activity?
  • Did they build on each other's dialogue during the scene?
