Exercise Beginner 30 min 2–6

Description

This exercise involves two or more players using various objects to convey emotions and relationships. The goal is to integrate physical objects into scenes to enhance emotional expression.
Players can choose objects like balloons, sandbags, feathers, and party toys to illustrate their characters' feelings in spontaneous scenarios.

Setup Requirements

A table with various props and objects easily accessible to all players.

Point of Concentration

Use a spontaneously selected object to express a feeling or relationship.

Side Coaching

  • Encourage players to really connect with their chosen objects.
  • Remind them to focus on the emotion each object represents.
  • Suggest incorporating movement and interaction with the objects.

Points of Observation

  • Watch how players use objects to enhance their emotional portrayal.
  • Look for creativity in object selection and usage.
  • Observe interactions between players and the objects.

Evaluation

  • Did the objects follow the action effectively?
  • How well did players express their emotions through the objects?
  • Did the scenes flow naturally with the use of props?

Examples

Examples of scenarios include:
  • Example A: In a bedroom scene, two older sisters dress up, throwing balloons and jumping rope while a younger sister, burdened by a sandbag, expresses sadness.
  • Example B: A bashful love scene where a ball is rolled back and forth between a couple's feet.
  • Example C: A scene about 'passing the buck', where a bean bag is tossed among players.
