Description

SINGING DIALOGUE involves two or more players creating a scene where they sing their dialogue instead of speaking. The players first agree on the setting (Where), characters (Who), and the context (What) of the scene.

Setup Requirements

Point of Concentration

Players are to sing the dialogue instead of speaking it.

Side Coaching

  • Encourage players to find their own melodies.
  • Remind them to focus on expressing emotion through sound.
  • Acknowledge that good singing voices are not required.

Points of Observation

  • Watch for creativity in melody and tone.
  • Look for how players engage with each other through sound.
  • Notice the energy and dynamics of the performance.

Evaluation

  • Did the players explore all vocal ranges?
  • How well did they maintain the emotional connection through song?
  • Was their singing cohesive and entertaining?

Examples

  • "Where are we going, my friend?" sung in a playful melody.
  • "To the moon, we’ll zoom, oh how it will be a boon!"
