Exercise Beginner 30 min 2–4

Description

In this exercise, pairs of players create a floor plan of a chosen location on a blackboard. Each team will visualize and draw the arrangement of furniture and key items in that space.

Setup Requirements

Small blackboards (or paper), chalk, easel, and chairs.

Point of Concentration

Creating a detailed spatial layout.

Side Coaching

  • Encourage creativity in layout choices.
  • Remind players to communicate clearly with each other.
  • Ask questions to prompt details about each item in the space.

Points of Observation

  • How well do teams collaborate on their designs?
  • Are they considering the function of each space?
  • Do they incorporate details effectively in their layout?

Evaluation

  • What challenges did you face while planning your space?
  • How did you decide on the placement of items?
  • What would you do differently next time?

Examples

Examples of locations:
  • Living room with a sofa, coffee table, and TV.
  • Kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, and dining table.
  • Bedroom with a bed, dresser, and lamp.
