Where With Unrelated Activity

Exercise Intermediate 15 min 2–2

Description

This exercise involves two players who agree on a 'Where' (location) and 'Who' (characters) while engaging in a mutual activity, such as a dance lesson or building a boat. The twist is that the activity should not depend on the chosen location, leading to creative and unexpected interactions.

Setup Requirements

Space for players to move freely and a floorplan drawn to represent the environment with various objects.

Point of Concentration

Players must make physical contact with all objects in the environment.

Side Coaching

  • Encourage players to focus on their connection to each other.
  • Remind them to interact with their environment creatively.
  • Ask players to explore the impact of their activity on the audience's perception.

Points of Observation

  • Watch how players engage with the environment and each other.
  • Note any creative uses of objects in their activity.
  • Observe shifts in energy and focus throughout the exercise.

Evaluation

  • How did the players' relationship influence their activity?
  • What unexpected interactions arose from their choices?
  • Did the exercise effectively engage the audience?

Examples

  • "We're dancing in the kitchen!"
