Exercise Beginner 10 min 2–10

Description

In this exercise, players establish a scene by agreeing on the elements of Where, Who, and What. After these are determined, they must each achieve a distinct physical expression and be instructed to "Hold it!" Players then retain one or two physical characteristics throughout the scene.

  • Encourage players to focus on their chosen physical traits.
  • Remind them to maintain energy and commitment to their character.
  • Suggest exaggeration in physical expressions for clarity.

Points of Observation

  • Watch how physical traits affect interaction and dynamics between players.
  • Note the creativity in maintaining the chosen characteristics.
  • Look for how these traits influence the scene's development.

Evaluation

  • Did the physical characteristics influence the players’ choices of Where, Who, and What?
  • How did the physicality affect the scene's overall effectiveness?
  • What worked well and what could be improved?
