Description

In this exercise, a single player takes the stage to portray a character who is physically immobilized. The character is faced with an outside threat that adds tension to the situation.

Setup Requirements

Open stage space for performance.

  • Encourage strong physicality to convey immobility.
  • Focus on facial expressions to reflect fear or anxiety.
  • Maintain a clear connection to the perceived threat.

Points of Observation

  • Watch for how the actor uses body language to express fear.
  • Note the tension created by the threat.
  • Observe how the actor engages with the audience despite immobility.

Evaluation

  • What feelings did the actor evoke in you?
  • How effectively did they convey their character's struggle?
  • What techniques worked well in communicating immobility?
