Exercise Beginner 15 min 2–2

Description

Two players collaborate using a chosen object to initiate an activity. This object will guide their interaction and determine the nature of their task, similar to tug-of-war.
Examples of activities include spreading a sheet or taffy pulling. The goal is to focus on the object and the dynamics it creates between the partners.

Setup Requirements

Slips of paper and a hat or container for drawing objects.

Point of Concentration

on the object between them.

Side Coaching

  • Encourage spontaneity; avoid over-planning.
  • Emphasize listening and reacting to each other and the object.
  • Focus on the physical connection with the object.

Points of Observation

  • Watch for how players use the object to drive their interaction.
  • Note moments of genuine response versus planned actions.
  • Look for creativity in their use of the object.

Evaluation

  • How did the object influence your interaction?
  • What surprised you during the activity?
  • Did you feel connected to your partner? Why or why not?

Examples

Examples of objects could be:
  • A blanket for tugging.
  • A long rope for pulling.
  • A large piece of fabric to spread together.
