MIRROR EXERCISE #2

Exercise Beginner 15 min 4–4

Description

In this exercise, participants divide into two sub-teams. One sub-team acts as the mirror while the other initiates all movements. The initiating sub-team must agree on an activity that involves both players and demonstrates clear movement.
After a set time, roles are reversed. The goal is for the mirror team to perfectly reflect the movements of the initiating team.

Setup Requirements

Open space for movement.

Point of Concentration

Mirror sub-team is to reflect all movements exactly.

Side Coaching

  • Encourage clear and exaggerated movements from the initiators.
  • Remind the mirror team to focus and maintain eye contact.
  • Be patient; allow time for reflection.

Points of Observation

  • Watch for accuracy in the mirroring of movements.
  • Observe the clarity of the activities chosen by the initiating team.
  • Notice how well the mirror team maintains their focus.

Evaluation

  • What challenges did you face in reflecting movements?
  • How did the initiation affect your reflections?
  • What improvements can be made for next time?

Examples

Example activity: Barber shaving a customer. Sub-team A mirrors the barber's actions while Sub-team B initiates the shaving movements.
