Description

In this exercise, two players create a scene based on a predetermined agreement about who the characters are and what the environment is. The crucial element is that both players must remain completely still throughout the performance.
This restriction allows the players to focus on their relationship and dialogue, emphasizing emotional connections over physical actions.

Setup Requirements

A space for two players to perform a scene.

Point of Concentration

No Motion to heighten relationship.

Side Coaching

  • Encourage deep connection through dialogue.
  • Remind players to express emotions vocally.
  • Focus on maintaining eye contact.

Points of Observation

  • Watch for the intensity of emotional exchanges.
  • Pay attention to the clarity of character relationships.
  • Notice how stillness affects the tension in the scene.

Evaluation

  • How did the stillness impact the relationship?
  • What emotions were effectively conveyed?
  • How did you adapt to the limitations of movement?
