NO-MOTION WARM-UP

Description

This warm-up focuses on developing awareness of movement without interference. Players will practice raising their arms while concentrating on the concept of 'No Motion'. They will visualize the stillness left behind in space, similar to a flip-book animation. This exercise aims to help players move effortlessly and understand how to keep out of their own way.

Setup Requirements

None, just a spacious area for movement.

On the still moments between the movement.

Side Coaching

  • Encourage players to feel the still moments between movements.
  • Remind them to focus on the effortless quality of the movement.
  • Guide them to visualize the still images they create as they move.

Points of Observation

  • Watch for players maintaining focus on the concept of No Motion.
  • Notice how effortlessly they move without conscious effort.
  • Observe the comfort level of players in their movements.
