Exercise Beginner 15 min 1–10

Description

PITCHMAN is a solo exercise where each student-actor takes turns selling or demonstrating a product to the audience. After the initial speech, they must repeat it, this time adopting the characteristics of a pitchman.

Setup Requirements

Space for participants to perform in front of an audience.

Side Coaching

  • Encourage high energy and enthusiasm.
  • Focus on eye contact with the audience.
  • Utilize body language to enhance the pitch.

Points of Observation

  • Engagement level of the student-actor with the audience.
  • Contrast between the initial speech and the pitchman's delivery.
  • Use of gibberish for improvisation.

Evaluation

  • What made the pitchman version more engaging?
  • How did audience interaction change the performance?
  • What strategies did you notice in effective pitches?
