In this exercise, two players explore a relationship through spontaneous transformations. They begin by forming a clear relationship and then allow it to evolve into new forms, using word association and physicalization.
Players must remain open to change, letting it unfold without forcing it. The aim is to spark dialogue and create scenes that are rich in character and creativity, which can include animals, objects, or even abstract concepts.
Setup Requirements
Open space for movement and storytelling.
Point of Concentration
Let changes happen organically.
Side Coaching
Encourage players to listen actively to one another.
Remind them to let changes occur rather than inventing them.
Prompt physicalization to enhance the transformation process.
Points of Observation
Watch for how players respond to each other's changes.
Observe the clarity of character and relationship development.
Take note of any pauses that indicate players are getting stuck on invention.
Evaluation
Did you allow transformations to occur naturally?
How did it feel to embrace spontaneous change?
